Prep & Care

Fine Line body tattoo pre care instructions:

Avoid Alcohol and Drugs:

  • Avoid consuming alcohol or drugs (including aspirin and other blood-thinning medications) before your tattoo appointment. These substances can thin the blood, increase bleeding, and make the tattooing process more challenging.

Stay Hydrated and Avoid Caffeine:

  • Prioritize hydration and aim to drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your tattoo appointment. Hydrated skin tends to heal better and faster.
  • Avoid Caffeine the morning of your appointment. (Yes, that means coffee)

Avoid Sunburn and Tanning:

  • Avoid getting sunburned or tanned in the area where you plan to get tattooed. Sunburned or tanned skin can be more sensitive and may not hold ink as well.
  • If you have a sunburn or tan, wait until your skin has fully healed and returned to its normal color before scheduling your tattoo appointment.

Fine Line body tattoo post care instructions:

Aftercare is crucial for ensuring proper healing and preserving the quality of your new tattoo. Below are some crucial guidelines to follow during your healing process after getting your fine line body tattoo:

  • Your tattoo artist will put a DermaSkin over your new tattoo immediately after getting your tattoo, so be sure to keep this on for the time recommended by your artist, typically up to 24 hours the first day to protect the tattoo from bacteria and irritation.
  • After the first 24hrs, you can then remove the Derma skin and gently clean your tattoo with lukewarm water and a gentle, scent free cleanser.
  • You can then apply a second Derma skin if needed to help protect and speed up the healing process of your new tattoo.
  • 2 days after: You want to keep the tattoo moisturized by applying a thin layer of provided ointment that your tattoo artist gives during your tattoo appointment. Apply 2-3 times daily or as needed until the tattoo has completely healed.
  • Avoid sun exposure on your new tattoo, as this will fade out the pigment and not heal properly. Always use SPF of at least 40 or above on your tattoos as this will help prevent fading over time.
  • Avoid swimming, soaking in hot tubs, or taking long baths for at least two weeks after getting your tattoo. Prolonged exposure to water can soften the skin and increase the risk of infection.
  • Avoid scratching your tattoo as this can pull the pigment out and the tattoo will not heal properly.
  • If a touch up is required, it’s recommended to wait at least 4-6 weeks so the skin can properly heal.
