First 72 Hours Post-Treatment
Goal: Keep the treated area clean and dry.
- Expect a stinging sensation for up to 3 hours post-treatment.
- Avoid anti-inflammatory medications (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen, steroids) for one week; Tylenol is acceptable.
- Sleep on your back with your head elevated to reduce swelling.
- Avoid cold packs or ice as they may interfere with the desired inflammation process.
- No exercise, heat, steam, or sweat exposure for 1 week.
- Do not cleanse the treated area until the following day.
- Avoid occlusive dressings, sunblock, makeup, mascara, or creams until the area has fully healed (up to 2 weeks).
- It is highly unlikely to get an infection from a Plasma treatment, as the wound is not open. However, avoid activities exposing you to contaminants; wash hands before touching the area.
- Redness, swelling, and minor inflammation are normal for 1-5 days.
- You may return to work the following day. However, you will not look your absolute best during the initial healing process (approximately 7 days).
Days 3-7 Post-Treatment
Goal: Keep the area clean and dry.
- Expect the area to be red, swollen, tight, and dry. Occasional weeping is normal.
- Tiny crusts will form; do not pick at them to avoid scarring.
- Cleanse gently with room-temperature water and fingers; pat dry with a clean towel.
- Avoid standing under hot showers and ensure hair products do not contact the area.
- Avoid swimming or chlorinated water.
- Men should avoid shaving the treated area until fully healed.
- If treated around the eyes, avoid contact lenses for 72 hours.
- Do not wear makeup until scabs have fallen off.
- Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds. Once scabs fall off, use physical sunblock (zinc/titanium) and a hat for at least 12 weeks.
- If the area is near the mouth, chin, or cheeks, avoid facial masks for 48 hours. After 72 hours, use clean masks daily.
Weeks 8-12 Post-Treatment
- Pink skin after scabs fall off is normal and will resolve over time.
- Resume makeup and sunblock after scabs fall off, avoiding products with active exfoliants for 21 days.
- Continue using physical sunblock and protective clothing to prevent hyperpigmentation.
- Avoid additional facial treatments, waxing, or saunas in the treated area during the 12-week healing period.
- Maintain high Vitamin C intake (2,000-4,000 mg/day), collagen supplementation, and hydration (2 liters/day).
- Full effects of treatment will become visible in 8-12 weeks. Additional treatments, if needed, require a 12-week gap.
Note: Immediate lifting and tightening effects are expected, with gradual improvements as healing progresses. Contact your provider if you have any concerns during the healing process.
